Mussels
Detritus from a long forgotten lobster bake? Or maybe all that’s left from a gull’s low tide feast? Either way, these lovely mother of pearl lined shells caught of my the way they lay beached in the sand at the high tide line, like small blue boats pulled up haphazardly. I painted the sand by spattering different colored droplets over a tan underpainting until I had the effect I wanted and then painted the shells on top.
