View from the Galley
Up in the wheelhouse of a converted lobster boat, taking in the details. The morning sun at my back, casting shadows against the far wall. Tea is steeping in a white porcelain pot waiting to be poured into the mug from Siena, one of the competing families. And a lead diving weight attached to the kerosene lamp keeps it from swinging too much if waves catch the boat rolling. Sometimes it’s the smallest things that matter the most.
