Black Watch

from $300.00

A 68’ Sparkman and Stevens yawl built in 1938, laying at anchor in Center Harbor. A classic beauty with a proud history, she was built in Nevins Yard for Rudy Schaeffer of the beer family and named Edlu II. The family loaned the boat to the U.S. Navy during WW II and she earned a battle flag for scaring away German submarines. In 1947 she was donated to Tabor Academy and renamed Tabor Boy. In 1954 she was sold to Dr. David Brooks, who owned her for 51 years, selling her in 2005 to a syndicate of 5 New York Yacht Club members, who relocated her to her current homeport in Newport, RI.
