Mantlepiece

Painted in a spare room in an old stone house in Upperville Virginia, where I had the privilege of waking up one sun streamed morning. Normally I don’t paint in this kind of minimalist style. But take a closer look and you’ll see that this overflows with detail. As the light passes through the old window glass you can see every imperfection projected on the wall and mantle.
