This elegant mahogany steering mechanism has guided Peggy, a 50’ Chesapeake workboat, for many decades. So many in fact that one spindle, which sits at the top when the rudder is centered, is half the size of the others, having been worn down by the hands of various captains guiding her through countless days on the water.
