Windjammers Round the Ferry Dock

Coming past the ferry dock and Gilkey Lighthouse on Islesboro at day’s end, a pair of schooners make for the anchorage before us. Summer evenings in Maine have a quality not found in most other coastal regions. Even the hottest summer days tend to cool quicker, creating unique atmospheric displays. Sort of like Maine’s answer to 4th of July fireworks.
