Port and Starboard
When I was arranging these lobsters I noticed the complimentary colors of the rubber bands, which are also used on boats to distinguish right from left. Then I wondered about the different sized claws. Every lobster has a big crushing claw and a smaller one, a violin and a bow. Turns out the larger claws can be either the left or the right, in fairly equal numbers. I’d never really considered lobsters could be left or right handed until the moment I sat down to paint this.
