Sheepscot Moonrise
This little village grew on the banks of the Sheepscot River, which is still tidal and deep enough to float a large wooden boat, something boat builders used to do just below the town and a shallow bar. The wood came down the river from the north, was milled and turned into shipbuilding lumber, then into ships that were floated downriver on the high tide to the ocean.
