Third Beach

from $350.00

This is a sweet family beach on the calm waters of the Sakonnet River on the east end of Aquidneck Island where I grew up. For awhile in the 1950s there was a Navy officers club here, but a hurricane wrecked it. My father and friend Bob Baker, started a sailing program for St. George’s off this beach. To help students fully appreciate the sea, they were first required to build their own boats, called Puddle Ducks, designed by Bob, in the school shop.
